Format and Grading
Format
We have 25 metre and 50 metre races of all strokes.
The distance of the races swum by members is dependent on the grade they are in.
All swimmers can nominate for Novelty Handicap and Relay events.
A 100 metre event where swimmers may also nominate their stroke is also usually held.
We have a short BBQ break mid-way through the evening where special announcements and awards for the previous week are made.
Grading
All new swimmers will be required to swim in 25 metre races on their first night to allow us to grade them.
A Grade qualifying times are as follows:-
Freestyle 22 secs
Backstroke 25 secs
Breastroke 30 secs
Butterfly 25 secs
Once a swimmer has attained A Grade Times, it is expected that they swim in 50 metre events thereafter.
